Top spine end heavily frayed. Title on front cover and spine faded. Bottom of back cover torn and repaired with scotch tape. Both hinges broken but held by mull. FFEP has had bookplate partially removed and shows moisture damage (possibly from bookplate removal). FFEP also has former owner's name in pencil. Page 323 has been repaired with tape. Text has scattered page folding and signs of repeated reading. Book is askew.

Slightly larger format than the original edition and different title design. The jacket is almost identical to the original design ( slightly larger) with a price of $6.50 on the flap. Minimal edgewear and slight soiling to the back panel which has three reviews and the photo of Rand. No chips or tears on the much better than usual, very bright and fresh jacket. This edition from perhaps the 1960's. Original cloth is very clean, almost new appearing, in a very attractive early jacket. Scarce edition and even more so in this condition. Suitable as a gift.
