Hardcover Aa. Jacob DJ photo of Salinger. (illustrator). BOMC. NEAR FINE book, FAIR DJ(in Brodart). Early BOMC. Jacob's Salinger photo on DJ rear panel. Bright book, clean but worn DJ. An unusual EXLIB. There is no sign the DJ was ever in a Brodart and then taped to book's inside covers. There are only two EXLIB indicators. (1) "fic" & "S" inked onto DJ lower spine. (2) Book itself with only EXLIB sign being the card pockets inside the rear cover. It does apear that only one person ever checked this book out. NO EXLIB tp stamps or stamped page edges. Two book flaws: (1) lightly bumped tips and spine ends (2) light glue browning along the pastedown gutters. DJ gutters lines have been scotch taped on the inside. All other DJ flaws shown in the pix.

Salinger as a leading voice in American literature--and that has instilled in millions of readers around the world a lifelong love of books. b br b i If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you'll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don't feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth. br The hero-narrator of i The Catcher in the Rye is an ancient child of sixteen, a native New Yorker named Holden Caufield. Through circumstances that tend to preclude adult, secondhand description, he leaves his prep school in Pennsylvania and goes underground in New York City for three days. br Language: ENG.
