Original Cloth. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Second Edition. Thriller Book Club edition. Originally published by John Gifford in 1959. This edition is undated but probably circa 1960 using the same cover art as Gifford edition. The boards have a bump to the top front corner and light edge wear but are otherwise unmarked. Dark brown spotting to the edges of the pages . Scattered spotting to the endpapers and the pages have a slight odour but are generally unmarked. The jacket has some rubbing at the top and bottom of the spine and to the corners, a half inch closed tear at the base of the spine next to the front panel and a few small nicks to the edges. The rear panel is a little discoloured.

Bound in beige cloth with black lettering; last few leaves with some minor tone spots in margin o/w fine internally, no inscriptions; the edgeworn jacket is near complete but there is a piece missing at the top of the spine biting into the word CORPSE.

The book has been in the house of smoker so there is a slight odour to the pages which are a little browned but otherwise unmarked. The jacket has two small closed tears to the top edge of the front panel with a little creasing adjacent to one of these. Another small closed tear to the top edge of the rear panel. Other than that the jacket has only light edge and surface wear.
