Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Has the Farrar colophon on copyright page indicating a first edition. Book has moderate wear around the extremities of the cover. The dust jacket is acceptable only for two reasons. It has been trimmed to fit a Brodart that was smaller than the book. Brodart is no longer present but you can see on the scan the amount trimmed off. Luckily, the $2,50 price is still there. Also jacket has a big tape repair on the rear flap.

Covers are lightly scratched and faded along edges; there are some tape remnants on upper and lower edges of covers. Front gutter is cracked through; signatures feel a bit loose, but remain attached. Some pen and pencil markings on the front free end paper. Purple rubber stamp on title page for W.M.A. Shakespeare (Sheldon) Ltd. dated October 1952. Pages are nice and clean.
